Month 3 and so far so good Ipsy! I’ve heard from a few people that they haven’t had the best Ipsy experiences. They started getting products from random brands they weren’t interested in, or shades that didn’t really match their skin tone, so they ended the subscription. So far, (knock on wood) I’ve had a really great experience, except for the green nail polish that one time.
The makeup bag for December is a wintery, white/silver bag. I still can’t really get over having so many little makeup bags, but they’re definitely a fun surprise every month.
Review:
OUAI Hair Oil: I love when Ipsy sends me something from a brand I’ve been curious about. Ouai (pronounced “way”) is a cruelty free brand based and produced in the United States. The hair oil is multi-purpose which is fantastic, because you can use it to taming fly aways and split ends to using it as a perfume!
SLMISSGLAM L36 Tapered Highlight Brush: I usually really like synthetic brushes, but wasn’t a huge fan of this one. I used it for highlighting and found that it didn’t really pick up a lot of the product. I also like my brushes all uniform in color too. (the OCD in me)
SMASH BOX COSMETICS Always On Gel Liner in Fishnet: BIG fan of this liner. I have a few products from Smashbox (contour kit, primer and contour sticks) and another worthy of being added to my collection. It’s super creamy and easy to apply. PERFECT for tight lining and the waterline!
GLAMOUR DOLLS Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank eye shadow in Stargazing: I was impressed by the pigment and staying power of this shadow! The packaging was interesting, the box was the classic Lisa Frank pops of flurorescent color, but the actual case was an unimpressive purple with white writing.
TOO FACED Melted Latex in Hot Mess: Melted Matte from TOO FACED is definitely one of my favorites. I decided to try Melted Latex when it was on sale over the holidays for $12! I was excited to receive this in my December bag since I already had bought a couple. It came in the bright pink which is great to get in a mini size since I don’t wear bright glossy pink lips often. These are great to add to a bright matte lip when your lips start to dry out a bit at the end of the evening.
All in all this was a great bag, with my top picks being the Always on Gel Liner and the Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank eye shadow.
If you’ve got any of these products or if you’re an Ipsy subscriber, send me a link to your review, or let me know what you loved/hated about these products or your December bag.
